Adam Gas are approved by NAPIT (National Association for Professional Inspectors and Testers) for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for renewable installation, commissioning and servicing of BIOMASS boilers and associated controls. We are also a member of RECC (the Renewable Energy Consumer Code)

Biomass or Wood pellet boilers are an environmentally friendly, safe and convenient way of heating the home, using wood pellets as fuel.

Apart from the green aspect, the units are fully automatic and behave more like an oil or gas boiler, using advanced controls which cleverly regulate the amount of fuel being delivered to the burner to match the heat demand on the boiler. The fuel is fed to the burner via an auger connected to the adjacent pellet store/hopper.

The boilers are larger than an oil or gas boiler and may require to be located outside, in a garage or in a purpose built cabin.

Biomass is totally Carbon Neutral, this is because the CO2 emitted when the wood fuel is burned is usually around the same as the amount that was absorbed while the plants were growing. As long as a proportionate number of new plants continue to be planted and grow in place of those used for fuel, then the process is sustainable.

Apart from being Carbon Neutral the main ADVANTAGE for the home owner is the Government Renewable Heat Incentive. RHI.

RHI means that for installing and using a Biomass boiler in your home, the government will pay you for heating your home! Full information on RHI is available HERE
